Senior Geophysicist
As a Senior Geophysicist you will be a key member of the exploration team. You will be responsible for providing analysis of opportunities in support of the growth of a quality exploration portfolio for Faroe Petroleum. You will report to the Exploration Manager. The main responsibilities that the job entails include the following:
Responsibilities
- To identify exploration and appraisal opportunities for participation in license rounds, farm-ins, asset deals and other business opportunities.
- To assist in the screening and assessment of business development opportunities as required.
- To mature exploration opportunities from ideas and leads into prospects and drillable targets
- To conduct high quality geophysical and seismic interpretations in support of the Company’s business goals.
- To actively cooperate with the Technical Team as appropriate to ensure free exchange of information, knowledge and resources in pro-active manner.
- Keep abreast of new developments in geoscience technology and explore possible applications to exploration and development opportunities
- Maintain professional knowledge base, particularly best practice
Qualifications
- Degree; Bachelors and/or masters
- 2D and 3D workstation interpretation experience, preferably using Kingdom and Petrel software packages
- Work experience 8+ years
